Walker Logistics Has a Throughput up by 73%

Walker Logistics has increased the number of orders picked and dispatched by an average of 73% compared with the same period in 2016. In the last quarter of 2017, the monthly order throughput was up by 56% in October, 95% in November, and 63% in December.

The turnaround times and picking accuracy for orders remained at a record high level, despite the growth in activity. “The upturn not only reflects an increase in our client base but also the fact that our existing client companies are enjoying notable growth in demand for their products,” said William Walker, sales director of Walker Logistics.

The company anticipated it was going to be a busy period, especially with Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas all falling in the last three months of the year, so they employed additional people to make sure that customers would receive the professional service they were used to and not let it get affected by the significant volume growth.

“January has been just as busy and the volume of orders picked, packed and dispatched are likely to be up by some considerable margin against the previous January’s output,” said William Walker about the statistics on the new year.

Walker Logistics operates 250,000 square feet of ambient temperature warehousing, with multi configured pallet racking, dock levellers, pick bays and shelving for fast or single item picking and bulk staging areas for re-working or special projects. It provides storage and fulfilment services to a diverse range of clients from a number of ambient temperature facilities across the South of England. Its facilities are ideal for the main UK and European pallet and parcel distribution network. Walker offers a fully integrated storage and distribution service, including product collection, fulfilment, warehousing, and distribution, all with integrated supply chain management.
