Fergusons Transport Embraces Greater Customer Service Through Access WMS Solution

Fergusons Transport, the largest privately owned haulier in the North East of England, has made the strategic decision to implement Access Group’s warehouse management solution (WMS). This is a decision to support continued growth and a drive to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction through visibility and traceability, whilst also reducing manual burdens.

Paul Orrick, Logistics Systems Manager for Fergusons, explains, “Due to continuing projected growth within the business, plans for the future and warehouse expansion, we aim to provide our customer base with real-time stock visibility along with full receipt, order and dispatch information.” Access also gives Fergusons the ability to integrate several systems into one, whilst also continually investing in new technology to consistently deliver customer satisfaction through greater flexibility of warehouse process offerings.

Paul continues, “We investigated a number of solution providers, Access Delta stood out from the competition. The core reasons we chose Access were because of the system’s functionality which allows us to quickly adapt to the changing requirements of our customers, Access’ strong 3PL presence and the future system roadmap.”

The benefits will enable Fergusons to provide customers with real-time visibility over key information they need, these can be viewed via the internet or full EDI integration into the customers systems. Paul adds, “At Fergusons we always require the highest levels of quality, systems resilience, logistics functionality and reliability to meet the requirements of the mission critical operations of our customers.”

Access Delta will be deployed and rolled out across multiple, existing Fergusons sites with the long-term view for new roll-outs on a consistent basis as and when Fergusons has to respond to new client contract acquisition. Furthermore Deltas interface can be configured for end users to manage a host of warehouse complexities, easily, opposed to lengthy development changes which increases deployment.
