Davies Turner have been making progress on their new Distribution Centre, located in Central Park at Avonmouth in Bristol. The new facility appears to be taking shape and it is thought that the new facility will be ready to open at some point next month. The company purchased their second freehold site in Avonmouth last June and has been working since then to complete the new 150,000 sq. ft. logistics hub, the site will also feature a new 60 ft. high racking that can be used by Davies Turner for pallet storage.
The Davies Turner facility will be operational alongside their existing Bristol facility in order to offer additional capacity. This new Avonmouth facility will be completed nine years after the company’s first major addition to their freight forwarding and logistics branch in Bristol. The new logistics facility will offer logistics warehousing as well as a multi-storey mezzanine that will be suitable for sortation, reworks and fulfillment services that are needed for the company as they expand their logistics services for their e-commerce and online retail business.
The new Avonmouth site was first selected for its strategic location next to the M49 which then offers quick access onto the M4 and M5 intersections as well as being close to both of the Severn River bridges. The business park will have its own junction onto the M49 and when completed the site will also be connected to the rail network.
The Davies Turner Bristol branch also houses their subsidiary company, Davies Turner Air Cargo. This section of the business has also had a significant amount of success over the course of the last few years. The subsidiary has managed to expand rapidly in order to better co-operate with tie European partners as well as with companies in the wider world market including North America, the Middle and Far East and Australasia.
