The Henderson Group are activating an electronic system to help with their deliveries. The TranSend is a proof of delivery system which works electronically on 120 rugged Android devices. This system will be deployed across The Henderson Group wholesale and Foodservice vehicles. The vehicles containing the ePOD will be a part of the 400 SPAR and VIVO stores as well as parts of the catering industry across Northern Ireland.
This new proof of delivery system helps with the management of deliveries. The new system will allow The Henderson Group to have access to a delivery portal from a centralized location. This will allow the company access to all of the delivery operation and will be integrated into the vehicle WMS and route planning systems. This consolidated information will provide the company with a Control Center which will contain an overview of all the delivery data. This means that staff at the Control Center will have all the information the require highly accessibly, without having to navigate a variety of different systems.
The new TranSend app will allow The Henderson Group to better manage the days of their vehicle drivers, with a view of their actions from log on and departure from the depot to return and debriefing. The application monitors the drivers and can be checked against the specified vehicle routes. Another feature of TranSend are that the workflow of the drivers can be monitored. The drivers experience a different variety of delivery processes that can include Drop & Go and Drop & Lock. Other features include a two-way communication service between the office and the driver, allowing the company to be constantly ad efficiently connected, as well as recording delivery information like and notes specific for the delivery or photographs taken when delivering. The system will also be able to monitor a log vehicle defects that can be reported back to the control center.
