Evri launches zero-emission deliveries in Bristol

Evri, the UK’s leading parcel delivery company has partnered with Zedify and Urb-it, two of the top providers of zero-emission delivery solutions to provide carbon free deliveries to all consumers in the Bristol Clean Air Zone.

“At Zedify, we’re on a mission to get vans off streets and make cities like Bristol cleaner, safer places that are better for everyone. In 2021, we launched our award-winning cargo bike delivery service in the city. Now, with the launch of a new clean air zone, this collaboration helps to maximise our impact in dramatically decarbonising the process of getting parcels to people’s doorsteps and cleaning up Bristol’s air,” said Simon Whitehead, Head of Bristol Hub at Zedify.

Zedify and Urb-it will use their specialist e-cargo bikes to deliver within Bristol’s Clean Air Zone from the 1st March 2023. The partnerships mean that any Evri parcel, under 15kg, delivered to consumers’ homes within the clean air zone will be 100% emission-free. The total number of parcels expected to be delivered is around 345,000 per year with an estimated saving 57.4 tons of CO2 per annum.

“We are delighted to work with Evri to sustainably deliver its products to their customers in the UK. Evri has high ambitions for improving its sustainability strategy, and we’re pleased to be able to partner on making our industry better and our cities healthier and more liveable,” commented Kevin Kviblad, CEO at Urb-it.

Evri has the lowest carbon emissions of any dedicated parcel company in the UK. This partnership reinforces the business commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2035 as it strives to be an ESG leader. “We’re focused on reducing our carbon emission across our operation, using innovative products and services such as this brings us that step closer to our net zero goal,” concluded Nancy Hobhouse, Head of ESG.
