Empack & Label&Print Show Celebrate Advances

Packaging Innovations, Empack and Label&Print is a show put on to celebrate the advances businesses are making in the print and packaging market. In a world where sustainability is becoming a key focus and concerns, innovations in the packaging and printing process to reduce waste while still maintaining an attractive looking and viable product is a key goal for some manufacturers.

Attending the event this year were some big names including Asda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Avon, ALDI, Harrods, Coty, GSK and Beiersdorf. These popular brands being present at the Packaging Innovations, Empack and Label&Print will be boosted by their apparent concern with their product and packaging.

Visitors to the show were offered 300 exhibitors as well as over 30 hours of educational content from brands such as Innocent and Amazon. New additions to the show include and Innovation Showcase with an interactive voting as well as Inclusivity features as well as Pentawards display. These features of the show display the very best of packaging design and future trends before anyone else. The show has had a 76% onsite exhibitor rebook, meaning that next year’s exhibition has the potential to be the largest one yet.

Brands from non-packaging experts were also at the exhibition to give talks about ideas that could also improve the packaging market in the Ideas Factory section of the exhibition. Brands that took part in this section included British Gas-Hive, Cambridge University and Mintel. Cambridge University involved in a partnership with DWR Packaging Consultants to introduce a new show feature of examining inclusivity at the design stage of packaging production.

The Pentawards Display part of the exhibition showed the 2016 Diamond, Platinum and Gold Pentawards Winners. Visitors to the show vote for their favourite packaging, with contributions from Marc Jacobs, Dominoes and Holika Holika, who were crowned champions.
