CM Downton Lent Their Hard Work to a Project

CM Downton, the specialist transport company has lent their hard work to a project in Gloucestershire for the popular TV Program DIY SOS; The Big Build. CM Downton contributed to the work by delivering a new shed for the house being transformed by the well known TV construction team.

In June the specialist transporters collected the shed from manufacturer Forest Garden, which is in Hartlebury in Worcestershire, and then transported down the M5 to the site being worked on as part of the hit TV show.

The new shed delivered by CM Downton was used in order to make sure that the family has the additional space that they needed. The popular BBC show, hosted by Nick Knowles and featuring popular interior designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen managed to pull off the transformation in just four days. The project took place at the end of June however the episode is expected to be broadcast at some point later in the year.

The Director of CM Downton, Andy Downton has said that they were privileged to be able to help out on a project and a TV show that can deliver life changing construction transformations. The transportation job that was carried out by CM Downton is seen as a simple process however there were a number of challenges added because of the nature of the project, with the operators needing to co-ordinate with the producers of the show as well as an number of other parties to make sure that the delivery of the shed fit in with the tight programme of works.

CM DOWNTON has been operating since its founding in 1955. The company is well known for being a market leading independent logistics firm that works to merge the values associated with a family business with the capacity of a multi-national logistics operator. The company works to serve some of the largest UK companies in a variety of different sectors including print and publishing, food and drink, retail, manufacturing, energy, waste and consumer goods.
