Foodex is the UK’s premier trade event held at the NEC Birmingham for the food and drink processing, packaging, ingredients and logistics industries. The Foodex exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham on the 20th of April saw RTITB crown the winner of its first Lift Truck Instructor of the Year competition.
The Lift Truck Instructor of the Year competition celebrates the hard work and skill of the top instructors in the UK and was watched by interested industry professionals throughout the day.
The crowned champion was Ken Saward, from Mentor FLT Training Ltd. He received the prize of an iPad Mini which was donated by UniCarriers. The award was presented by Mitch Broadstock the Sales Manager of William Reed.
The RTITB Lift Truck Instructor of the Year competition was generated to reward and incentivise instructors for their continuing dedication to excellent training and to recognise this under-stated line of work.
The competition identifies all the fantastic effort that lift truck instructors put in everyday, the profession can be a dangerous one and providing effective training is vital for safeguarding employees whilst at work. Safe forklift operation and a decrease in workplace incidents are an important factor for the company.
The company wanted to give recognition to the instructors who work hard to train staff to be safe, skilled staff, similar to how we reward drivers at RTITB’s International Forklift Operator of the Year competition.
The awards were happily received at the Foodex event and many are praising the company for seeking to establish recognition for those who ensure safety of employees in the industry.
