Norbert Dentressangle Obtains Blue Seal Approval

Norbert Dentressangle has won a new contract with catering company Blue Seal, part of New Zealand based Moffat Group, a leading global supplier of commercial baking, cooking and warewashing equipment.

Established for over 90-years, the Christchurch manufacturing group operates in most industry sectors and has a reputation for catering innovation. In the UK, its brand names include Blue Seal Evolution Series, Turbo Fan, Cobra and Fastfri.

With the majority of machines manufactured in New Zealand, goods are imported directly into Blue Seal’s Birmingham warehouse, and UK headquarters. From here, Norbert Dentressangle’s Specialist Services arm collects catering equipment to be distributed to food service companies across the UK.

Operating from six UK sites, the Norbert Dentressangle Specialist Services team is able to provide a flexible next day distribution service using its fleet of 18-tonne rigid trucks, which are fitted with tail lifts, securing restraints and dedicated materials handling equipment. With its proven track record in delivering high value and large items, Blue Seal will benefit from a reduction in damage levels through Norbert Dentressangle’s experience of handling similar goods and specialist training.

Between 5,000 – 8,000 items will be distributed annually, with the majority of consignments being single person deliveries to trade dealers and end users, including restaurants, pubs and commercial kitchens.

Commenting on the appointment, Glenn Danks, UK Manager at Blue Seal, said: “With its catering sector expertise, Norbert Dentressangle is the ideal partner to provide an enhanced delivery service for our customers. The flexible supply chain solution is supported with clear communication, careful handling that minimises product damage, and a central customer service team.”

Norbert Dentressangle is providing a number of added value services for Blue Seal, including pro-active communication by delivery crews to end customers and final product positioning, along with the options of an unpacking and removal of waste packaging service, the capability to take and view real time pictures at the delivery point, and site surveys when required.

All orders can be tracked using Norbert Dentressangle’s secure REDTrack web portal, which also provides proof of delivery (POD) information.
