NewCold Advanced Cold Logistics Met Demand

NewCold Advanced Cold Logistics has been working to deliver specialist warehousing and logistical services for a growing number of frozen food producers throughout the UK. The company have said that they are managing to use 50% less energy per pallet space in comparison to other traditional cold stores.

The Wakefield-based company have recently extended their highly automated deep frozen warehousing facility in order to handle 143,000 pallets at a temperature of -20 degrees. The company has also engaged several new contracts. Some of the new contracts that have been won by NewCold will lead to them handling more than 300,000 pallets of frozen food items per year.

NewCold Advanced Cold Logistics focuses on delivering both short and long term solutions for storage and automated handling. The company work hard to come up with new ways to improve their energy efficiency while carrying out this service and as well as reduce their CO2 emissions. The solution created by NewCold can also cut product handling times and reduce road miles, in order to reach operational targets for their clients.

The company collects pallets from food manufacturing clients and their production facilities , then consolidated at NewCold’s Wakefield site before being delivered to the required retail, foodservice and wholesale customers across the UK. The NewCold dispatch bays are kept at -20C in order to maintain the product’s cold chain integrity and keep the quality of the produce as high as possible. Other companies prepare pallets for dispatch in chilled or ambient bays, however, NewCold uses automation as a vital tool to prepare orders while minimising human errors and changes in temperature.

With the company’s recent and larger contracts, NewCold have demonstrated their ability to meet a new higher level of demand while still delivering a high quality service for their clients in a way that maintains a low energy output.
