Ireland’s leading supplier of new and used vehicles, The Harris Group, has appointed John McEvoy as the new Chief Operating Officer, which is part of the company’s strategy for future growth as it continues to drive investment across every area of the business.

John comes with an experience in the commercial vehicle and fleet sectors of more than thirty years, which will drive the company’s expansion plans further. As The Harris Group prepares to open a new HQ on the Naas Road, John will support them throughout the process and after. The new HQ will accommodate the full commercial vehicle range including LDV, Sinotruk, Higer, Hino, and Isuzu, a new parts distribution centre, and the Sinotruk assembly plant.

“Harris Group has long been one of Ireland’s key players in the automotive industry and I am thrilled to join the company during such an exciting period of growth. 2018 is set to be another busy year with a range of product launches and an impressive new HQ to look forward to,” said John about his new position.

Prior to joining the team at the Harris Group, John worked as a Supply Chain & Fleet Manager for more than 10 years at the Kerry Group, picking up a number of honours for his work at the annual Fleet Transport Awards.

Founded in 1961 by Pino Harris, The Harris Group is one of Ireland’s longest established and leading automotive and assembly companies. In 1968 it won the exclusive franchise for the Hino truck brand in the UK and Ireland and is currently best known for its commercial vehicle brands that include Isuzu, LDV, Hino, Sino, and Hinger. The group is constantly striving for perfection across its business, from its trucks to the dealership experience and after-sale care.
