The waste management provider AE Burgess & Sons Ltd has brought a brand new refuse vehicle to its fleet, which will replace an existing one that had broken down. The company also needed a reliable vehicle that would manage the longer distance collections on the outskirts of Leicestershire.

The purchased vehicle is a 26t Mercedes Econic Dennis Olympus from Refuse Vehicle Solutions Ltd, equipped with the latest bin-weighing and vehicle safety technology, including a camera recording system and reverse radar.

“Although RVS are well known for supplying great quality used vehicles, four of which we have purchased on the past few years, they also provide brand new, off the shelf, commercial spec refuse trucks. They advise you what you need in terms of lifting kit or weighing equipment and they install it to the vehicle so it’s ready to go when it arrives,” commented Rob Gundle, Director at AE Burgess & Sons Ltd.

RVS’s new refuse vehicle service is known on the market as RediTruck, because the trucks are ready immediately and customers don’t have the wait long lead times, which is typically between 6 and 9 months, often required by manufacturers. The one ordered by AE was delivered within a month after the order was placed: “We even rented a truck from their hire fleet whilst we were waiting for ours to arrive,” said Rob.

“We introduced RediTruck because we identified a need in the marketplace for quick turnaround, new, and ready for work refuse vehicles.  Companies like AE Burgess need to be able to respond quickly to new customer demand or to replace old vehicles in their fleet,” said Spencer Law, Managing Director at RVS.

RVS provides a complete one stop solution for refuse vehicle operators, supplying a wide range of refuse vehicles, as well as a host of support services including breakdown cover, finance, hire vehicles, parts, repairs, service, and vehicle transportation.
