Jaama Being Used In Oder to Help Truck Fleets

Jaama is being used in order to help truck fleets comply with the updated and stricter roadside inspections that are being carried out by the Driver and Vehicle Standard Agency. The leading fleet and asset management software company in the UK has been helping fleets with this new check which includes an emissions check.

The Key2 software that has been developed by Jaama has won a number of awards and is the leading software in the industry for allowing users to store all of their emissions related data. The software can also use all of the data they stored in order to trigger any rectification requirements. The Department for Transport has said that the altered roadside lorry inspections will include an emissions check from August this year. The DVSA have said that they will be looking in particular for any cheat devices that may be being used.

Even though the target for the DVSA in these updated checks are rogue hauliers, it is of vital importance that all HGV fleets are installed with a comprehensive store of emission data is recorded at each vehicle check that takes place, this includes service schedules and MoTs.

The HGV operators will be given 10 days from when the new emission checks are introduced to fix their systems if the enforcement officers discover that the devices have been tampered with. If the device isn’t fixed in this time period, a fin will be issued and the truck will be not be allowed to be driven.

With the existing legislation and the new changes that have been made the continuous recording of HGV emissions is vital, therefore software such as Key2, which can record and provide a report on the average CO2 output and carbon tonnage of each vehicle can make it easier to deliver accurate emissions statements.
