Red Is The New Green, As LPR Delivers Environmental Promise

Warwickshire-based pallet pool operator, LPR, launched its new ‘White Book’ – a global environmental initiative to deliver even greater sustainability across the food and drink supply chain – with a company-wide ‘Red Day’ in September.

After unveiling the LPR White Book for World Environment Day in June, LPR invited all of its employees across 11 countries to submit suggestions for how to cement its corporate social responsibility commitments at an international ‘Red Day’.

During the day, LPR’s employees planted more than 100 trees across its international network, as well as holding cake sales and hosting quizzes. More than 25 employees at LPR’s UK headquarters in Studley, Warwickshire, took part in the initiative, which also raised £260 for charity, as well as delivering a car full of clothing, books and game donations to the Red Cross.

Jane Gorick, managing director of LPR UK, said: “As a leading player in the pallet-pooling sector, we have a duty to ensure that our operations are as sustainable as possible. That’s why we were the first pallet pooler in the industry to gain PEFC accreditation – showing all of our timber comes from sustainable sources.

“Red Day was a huge success for us in the UK and worldwide, raising awareness of our existing environmental commitments and rewarding employees for their hard work. We had a fantastic time and look forward to continuing to deliver on our green goals.”
