A team from Fleet Operations has taken on a North Wales Three Peaks Challenge to raise more than £1,500 for Shooting Star Cancer Support, a charity which supports the Shooting Star Unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Employees from the Newcastle-under-Lyme organisation scaled Moel Famau, Dinas Brân and Snowdon in a single day, completing the three climbs within 12 hours.

The challenge was organised to support the Shooting Star Unit which cared for Fleet Operations’ employee, Dawn McGregor Dearie, following her breast cancer diagnosis last year.

Dawn said: “I can’t put into words how proud I am of the team.

“It was such a physically demanding challenge, we were out for around 12 hours so it really was a long day. Everyone did brilliantly and the money raised will be going to an extremely worthy cause.”

Managing Director, Richard Hipkiss, added: “This serves as a great example of the team coming together around a cause with a very personal connection to the business.

“They can take a great deal from what they’ve achieved together.”

Enterprise also supported the challenge by providing two minibuses to transport the team on the day.
