CML Digs Deep To Raise Over £11,000 For Children’s Charity

A Leicestershire-based logistics company has donated thousands of pounds to Rainbows Children’s Hospice during its last financial year.

Core Management Logistics (CML), based in Lutterworth, has handed over £11,438 to the organisation which provides vital support to life-limited children and their families.

The funds were raised by CML’s dedicated workforce, made up of about 250 employees, who worked hard to organise and take part in a wealth of sponsorship events and activities which included auctions and raffles, cake and book sales, sponsored breakfast, lunch events and a number of fun runs.

The money was collected over the last financial year from April 2014 to April 2015 whilst the year before, CML handed over about £10,000 to the charity.

The money raised will help fund specialist staff, nurses, activities, consumables and equipment at Rainbows, so they can continue to provide vital care and support for children from across the East Midlands with terminal and life limiting illnesses, as well as their families.

A spokesperson from Rainbows commented, “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at CML for their continued fundraising and support. The money really does make a huge difference to the lives of the children and young people here at the hospice.”

CML also donated an extra £1,660 over the year to various other local charities, clubs and community groups including Lutterworth Rotary Club, the Lutterworth Mayor’s Appeal, Age UK in Earl Shilton and the Leicestershire Portage Service to name just a few.

Graham Copley, Managing Director at CML, commented, “I’m delighted that CML employees showed their fundraising spirit and stepped up to the charity challenge to take part in a wealth of great events over the year to raise thousands of pounds for a very worthy cause.

“I think it’s incredibly important to give back when you can and we’re thrilled that we have been able to support a vital charity such as Rainbows to help it continue to thrive. As well as lend a helping hand to a variety of other local and national charities and community groups.”

Centrally based at Magna Park in Lutterworth, CML is a privately owned supply-chain services company specialising in retail warehousing and distribution, along with global freight forwarding services. Their 270,000 sq ft warehouse services retail giants including Marks & Spencer and L.K.Bennett and they provide bespoke solutions for many other distinguished brands and suppliers.
