Geminor Will be Opening a New Logistics Terminal

Geminor, the European waste to energy specialist has announced that they will be opening a new logistics terminal. The terminal will be located in Aalborg Harbour. It is thought that this new space will be vital as the company continue their expansion across Denmark. The facility will be used in order to import and the national distribution of specialist waste fuels from England, Ireland, Scotland and Germany.

Geminor launched in 2015 in Demark and had a base in Sondeborg. The company handles more than 1.2 million tonnes of waste fuels every year. Geminor has plans to expand nationally which is being supported by the growing demand as well as new technology and a change in the consumer perceptions.

The logistics terminal is 2,500 square meters large and is now fully operational and will handle over 30,000 tonnes of refused derived fuel, or RDF and also soli recovered fuel, or SRF, each year. It is thought that the facility will be able to deliver high quality feedstock to other energy recovery facilities across Denmark. By opening this new terminal in Aalborg Harbour, Geminor has been able to reach another milestone. The completion of the project demonstrates the company’s intention to expand and extend their capabilities across Denmark. The company are also looking to the future, which will see more facilities open in Copenhagen and central Jutland.

The company works with clients around the world in order to help them eliminate their landfill waste by turning them in to renewable power. This procedure involves using return load transport in order to export the RDF and SRF materials, the passing them through 70 different energy recovery facilities in order to generate a renewable facility. By setting up a logistics operation in Denmark while keeping their distribution partnerships the company will be able to expand the operations in order to meet the growing demand for energy recovery solutions.
