TTS Strengthens Its Position Within the RoPax Segment

TTS Group maintains its strong position within the RoPax segment after signing important contracts with Guangzhou Shipyard and AVIC Weihai in China through its subsidiary TTS Marine AB. According to the new contracts, TTS will be delivering access equipment for three RoPax vessels.

For the contract with Guangzhou Shipyard, TTS will deliver access equipment, such as stern ramps, external doors, car decks and ramps for two RoPax vessels of 230 meters for DFDS, with a capacity of 4,500 lane meters and 600 passengers. There is a continued strong development in the Baltic region and the new ships will improve the efficiency of the DFDS route network in the region.

The contract with AVIC Weihai is for one RoPax of 214,5 meters with a vehicle capacity of 3,100 lane meters and 1,000 passengers for Stena RoRo, which will see the delivery of access equipment, such as external doors, ramps, stern and bulkhead doors for the vessel. The ship will be chartered for a period of ten years by DFDS to strengthen the Dover – Calais route starting 2021, turning it into the largest ship on the Channel.

“It is exciting to be a part of the high expansion of RoPax vessels that will traffic northern Europe in the near future. These contracts in addition to previous orders at AVIC, Xiamen, Flensburg and Guangzhou give us a strong position in the RoPax segment. We strongly believe that our knowledge and early involvement in projects is important for the customers and have led to these contracts.  We are happy to see high activity in China within the RoPax segment and are proud to be selected as supplier to these projects,” said Jonas Persson, VP Sales & Projects at TTS Marine AB.

Guangzhou and AVIC will both use the TTS IFS-70 flushing unit during the installation of the TTS equipment, ensuring a clean system is being installed, which will have a positive effect throughout the lifetime of the vessels.
