Tiger Launch New Rail Freight Service Tiger Rail

Tigers has announced the launch of a new rail freight service. The company will be running the operation called Tiger Rail and will offer their customers a service that will travel east and west bound. Tiger Rail will deliver a 16-day transit time between Duisburg, Germany and Hefei, Chongqing and Chengdu, China.

The customers of the new rail freight service will be able to charter a train, book a Full Container Load or Less than a Container Load for shipments that will be taken on weekly scheduled services to and from more than 15 origin stations in China.

Tigers is a supply chain specialist which is headquartered in Hong Kong. The business is also looking into offering a parcel shipping service between Europe and China as a cost effective service that will utilize the new Silk Road. The company are making the most of the opportunities to offer more integrated logistics services for their customers who are increasingly looking for shorter transit times that those offered by ocean freight and lower costs than those incurred through airfreight services. Tiger Rail offers an ideal solution, as customers can benefit from lower shipping costs by utilising space on container returns.

This announcement has come following Tigers recent achievement of Authorised Economic Operator certification in the UK. The certification has allowed Tiger to expand their footprint and open a new office in Leeds. The company has also launched a post-Brexit solution which will help the company overcome any disruption that could possibly be caused by Brexit.

Tiger has already supported customers through the transportation of more than 500 TEUs as FCL as well as 1,500 cubic meters transported as LCL by using the new Silk Road. Tiger Rail’s first shipment took place over the summer and carried cargo including materials auto parts and electronics for one of the largest manufacturers of exhaust and suspension systems.
