Mercedes-Benz Dealer Western Commercial Leads On Van customer Service

Mercedes-Benz Dealer Western Commercial has confirmed its standing as one of the UK’s top van retailers by becoming the latest member of the manufacturer’s franchised network to achieve a demanding new standard of excellence.

The company, which operates from state-of-the-art facilities in Bellshill, Glasgow and Broxburn, Edinburgh, passed a stringent audit to become Scotland’s first Mercedes-Benz Van ProCenter. This achievement reflects the industry-leading quality of its people and procedures as they relate to new and used light commercial vehicles.

There was more good news for Western Commercial at the latest Mercedes-Benz Dealer awards event, where Used Van Sales Manager Kevin Paton and his colleagues carried off the Used Van Team of the Year award for 2015, in recognition of their record-breaking performance during 2014. At the corresponding event 12 months ago Western won the Mercedes-Benz Van Dealer of the Year title.

Van ProCenter accreditation means that Western Commercial customers are assured of class-leading levels of service, not only when selecting, ordering and taking delivery of their new vehicles, but also once they’re on the road.

Mercedes-Benz Van ProCenter Dealers must keep extended opening hours for customer convenience and meet the manufacturer’s strict requirements on everything from sales staff numbers, their training, qualifications and expertise in specific models and business sectors, to advice on bodybuilding options and the availability of Sprinter, Vito and Citan demonstration vehicles for test drives at short notice.

They will also demonstrate ‘best-in-class’ brand and product presentation at their premises where, as well as new models, they should retail a broad range of top-quality used vans and offer customers fair and transparent trade-in deals on their own vehicles.

From an after sales perspective, meanwhile, Van ProCenter Dealers must have specially trained service advisors and technicians, and ensure customer mobility by providing replacement vehicles and collection and delivery services.

The Van ProCenter programme is an international initiative by Mercedes-Benz that puts customer care at the very top of the agenda. As well as leading the way in Scotland, Western Commercial is one of only a handful of Mercedes-Benz Dealers anywhere in Britain to have met all of its demanding criteria – most UK franchisees are still working towards accreditation.

Western Commercial New Van Sales Manager Joe Scott declared: “The Van ProCenter scheme is all about providing our customers with the industry’s finest acquisition and ownership experience. It challenges us to think again about what we do both collectively and individually, and to ask ourselves whether things can be done better.”

He continued: “The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Vito and Citan are widely recognised as the best light commercial vehicles on the market, while the showrooms at our dealerships – facilities which no other van retailer in the Central Belt can match – have never looked better.

“Every member of our motivated and expert team is fully committed to the Van ProCenter programme, and to delivering the class-leading levels of service that Mercedes-Benz customers are entitled to expect, so we’re looking forward to another great year.”
