Lorne Stewart Engineering has revealed that they have updated the look of their fleet while also managing to make significant savings from their fuel costs. The company’s new fleet is consisting of Mercedes-Benz vans which will also help the engineers reduce their CO2 emissions. Lorne Stewart Engineering started the tender process last year and the winning company Transflex managed to fight of a number of different competitors in order to with the contract.
It is thought that the contract hire deal that has been done between Lorne Stewart and Transflex is the largest release of new vehicles in a fleet that was conducted by the Engineering company. The Vehicle Hire company has provided Lorne Stewart with 210 vans. Most of the vans that form part of the brand new fleet is Mercedes Benz and have been supplied from Bell Truck and Van which is a vehicle company in the North East who are rapidly transforming in to a specialist company for rental vehicles.
Part of one Stewart Engineering’s new fleet of vehicles are Sprinter model Mercedes. However, the majority of the fleet, with more than 100 vehicles on the Engineer’s books are the smaller Citan Model. There are 109 different CDI model vehicles, and they have advanced 90 hp Euro 5 engines that return to the 65.7 mpg. It is thought that the Citan vehicles will help the engineering company manage a 23% reduction of the carbon emmissions in comparison to their older fleet.
The Engineering Group works from headquarters that are in Harrow, Middlesex and a number of different locations across England and Wales. Transflex already had an established working relationship with Transflex, who have been providing the engineering company with up to 50 vehicles from short term rentals. Hopefully this newer and larger contract will work out to be just as successful.
