The 9th and 10th of September saw the latest round of the British Truck Racing Championship. Taking place at Snetterton in Norfolk, Team Oliver’s Stuart and Michael arrived with a number of other teams on the Friday to set up for the weekend of races.

Saturday morning held the qualifications and both Stuart and Michael took to the Norfolk track for the first time this season. Snetterton is known for being a fast and technical track. On the three-mile race circuit, Stuart posted a time that allowed him a front row grid position for race one. Michael also got off to a good start, posting a time that placed him on the fourth row in 8th position.

Race One started without a hitch but has a red flag stoppage when a truck ran off the track and into the armco. Straight after the restart Stuart was involved in an incident, with his truck being hit from behind at the first turn and causing another red flag. The race took place later in the afternoon, completed successfully in very wet conditions. Surat managed to finish in 4th place, with Michael not far behind in 7th overall.

On Sunday morning of the race weekend, race two was underway with a reverse grid format. Going into the first right turn, Surat was unfortunately pushed off the track to the left and Michael was pushed off to the right hard into the armco. Both rivers managed to rejoin the race, with Stuart managing to fight his way back up to 4th, with Michael completing the race in his heavily damaged truck in 10th place.

Race three was another reverse grid and seemed to start without any trouble. Michael reached second place by the second circuit and Stuart was close behind in third. However, another multiple truck collision led to the red flags making an appearance and the race being declared as officially abandoned.

Last race of the weekend, race four, saw twenty trucks on the grid, and was an all-action race that was a spectacle for the crowds. Stuart started as well as possible and continued to work hard, having to settle for second place after the race winner separated from the group early and became uncatchable. Michael gave his all while driving his still heavily damaged truck and managed to finish in sixth.
