Certas Energy Planning Permission Granted

Working in partnership with Peel Ports Group, Certas Energy has announced that planning permission has been granted for a new 24 hour HGV refuelling facility within the Port of Liverpool.

The Port of Liverpool is one of the biggest, busiest and most diverse ports in the UK. Its current traffic and anticipated growth through investment makes it the ideal location for the new HGV refuelling site.

Ground works and construction will commence soon on the major investment to develop a state of the art refuelling site for up to eight HGVs at once. High speed pumps combined with advanced data collection, fuel monitoring equipment and filtration systems will make sure that the best service is provided at all times.

Situated at the main entrance to the Royal Seaforth Container Terminal and across from the new Liverpool2 deep water container terminal, which is part of Peel Ports’ £750 million investment scheme throughout the North West.

The bunker site will make it more convenient for current port users as there will be no need for drivers to divert off route to refuel; they will be able to refuel on entering or leaving the port, which will save time as they proceed to their onward destination.

Certas Energy Director, Paul Williams, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for Certas Energy and we are really pleased to be working with Peel Ports Group on this development.

“Our long-term lease not only demonstrates our continued investment to expanding our national refuelling network, but also highlights our commitment to supporting the continued economic development of the city of Liverpool. We look forward to the HGV refuelling site opening in early 2017”.

Meanwhile, Port Director at Peel Ports Group, David Huck, said that the new facility will add value to our customers and offer a convenient and cost effective area for HGV drivers to refuel their vehicles.

He added that planning permission is a significant milestone and they look forward to working with Certas Energy to provide a convenient new service to their port users.
