Walkers Transport Announce Delivery Of Ten New Trucks

Walkers Transport continues its commitment to investment and providing the best customer service by expanding its vehicle fleet with the acquisition of ten new 18 tonne DAF LF55 rigid trucks.

All of the vehicles have been fitted with bespoke body specification allowing 16 pallet spaces rather than the standard 14 to improve efficiency and increasing Walkers environmental credentials.

Each DAF LF55 has been fitted with forward facing “Smart Witness” cameras which record the trucks movements for insurance purposes. Additionally each rigid has had reversing cameras installed for safety and to help reduced unwanted collisions.

The latest Tom Tom telematics that control tracking, driver behaviour, mpg and job routing make these vehicles extremely efficient.

Speaking about the investment, Walkers Transport Managing Director, Graham Short said: “This investment in new modern vehicles is part of our ongoing strategy to continually improve our operations and provide outstanding service to our customers.

“Walkers Transport has a current outstanding 99.47% on time, in full delivery performance.  The fact that 90% of our clients have traded with us for 5 years or more is a clear testimony that our strategy is working. Our vehicles use environmentally-friendly Euro 4 and 5 engines, which are compliant with the London emissions zone, enabling us to operate within the capital”.
