Volvo Announce They Experienced Success During New Trials

The Swedish vehicle manufacturer Volvo has announced that they have experienced success during their trials of a new and limited edition FH16-750. This news of success has come after it managed to pull one of Krone’s Profi Liner curtainsider. The trial run saw the Volvo vehicle pull the curtainsider to the tip of Scotland from Gothenburg in Sweden.

The limited edition Volvo FH16-750 and the Krone Profi Liner have both been designed and manufactured in order to celebrate the golden anniversary of Volvo’s entrance to UK and Ireland markets. Similar to all of the trailers that are made by Krone and used on Volvo’s trucks for the purposes of trials and demonstrations the trailer is filled with an inordinately heavy load in order to test out the capabilities of the vehicle. For this trial journey, the Profi Liner was filled with 28 tonnes of concrete blocks for the trip to the UK and 24 tonnes for the trials that have taken place on the continent. Even with the extreme weight the vehicle and trailer stayed as dependable as ever before.

It has been revealed that there are only 50 of the limited edition Volvo Ailsa FH16-750s. The destination at the top of Scotland for the purposes of the trial was Ailsa Craig, in the north west of the country. It was also reported that throughout the trial there were no problems encountered with the truck or with the Krone Profi Liner. In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Volvo breaking in to the UK and Irish markets, the Profi Liners that are compatible with the FH16s have been branded with a commemoratory livery. The trailers have a sliding roof in order to enable loading from overhead. Also in order to provide the highest possible security on the Profi Liner, there are up to a possible 130 lashing points along the side of each trailer. These lashing points meant that Volvo were able to hold down their load of concrete in a stable position anywhere along the length of the trailer bed. This flexibility on the location of where a load is located means that the best weight distribution is reached.
