TRUCKINGBY Brian Yeardley has been provided with seven additional Schmitz Cargobull MEGA box and curtainsider low-ride trailers, to transport light, staging, and video equipment across Europe for world renowned bands such as Coldplay, J Hus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Weezer. In order to ensure that critical loads and protected and secure during transport, the trailers have been supplied with reinforced steel front and rear corner posts.
Joining the company’s fleet of more than 69 trucks and 80 trailers, the seven additions will incorporate Schmitz Cargobull’s FERROPLAST panels, which are thinner and stronger than glass-reinforced plastic so they will provide additional internal volume. This upgrade is vital for transporting high value bulky freight for concerts, corporate events, and exhibitions in cities like Barcelona, Berlin, Paris, Lisbon, Moscow, and Helsinki.
“When we buy Schmitz Cargobull, we know what we are getting is a quality trailer that’s built to last and can withstand hard work and at times poor roads. That makes them perfect for our operations, whether the trailer is working on our general cargo work in Europe or live events – we know what’s on board will arrive at the delivery point still in the same condition as it was loaded,” said Kevin Hopper, Managing Director at Brian Yeardley Continental.
Additionally, four of the new trailers are MEGA Cube curtainsiders with Schmitz Cargobull’s sliding roof, which allows out of gauge payloads to be quickly, safely, and more easily loaded or unloaded.
“Each trailer we order is tailored to our needs and that of our customers, which can be very specific in the music and entertainment business. We always know we can get any maintenance support through Schmitz Cargobull’s service partner network across Europe, which gives us complete confidence in getting to a venue on time. That’s critical when you have 50,000 people waiting for you at the other end,” added Hopper.
