South Wales-based Gerry Jones Transport takes delivery of new vehicles in deal worth in excess of £1m with MAN truck & Bus UK.
The firm’s founder Gerry Jones said: “We have been a big supporter of MAN for many years and this latest deal is to replace some of our older stock.
“We have been doing business together for the last 25 to 30 years and it has become more of a partnership than a customer/ supplier relationship over those years.
“Our latest deal has seen us take 12 MAN TGS 24.480 Euro 6 tractor units with the XXL cabs. We have taken them through MAN Finance and the deal is worth in excess of £1m.”
The tractor units will make up part of the 70-strong fleet of vehicles operated by the warehousing and general haulage firm from its base at Cwmcarn, near Newport, 95 per cent of which are MAN.
Roger Davies, of MAN dealer WG Davies, which supplied the new tractor units, added: “Gerry Jones Transport has long been a standard-bearer for the MAN brand.
“As a dealer we began working with them in 2004, but their relationship with MAN goes back to the days when they were first starting out. It is a sound relationship and we look forward to working with them in to the future.”
