Leeds based logistics specialist, Bedford Group recently enjoyed yet another fantastic Golf Day, with players making the most of the glorious weather conditions, which greeted them at Oulton Hall.

Bedfords Group is committed to supporting charity, and this year the proceeds raised will help sustain the Leeds Childrens Hospital Appeal, which provides medical facilities for children in Leeds. The appeal has already successfully raised over £1 million for this tremendous cause.

The humanitarian achievements were mirrored by some prolific golf, as company director Phil Lockwood led Phil’s Biscuit Boys to a rampant victory on the course. Fantastic Media provided the closest competition, narrowly missing out on the spoils, and last years winners Redheads International took third place.

Keith Hanvey claimed the sought after longest drive prize, powerfully blasting away the competition. However, Mark Firth was rewarded for his precision, scooping the ‘nearest the pin’.

At the Gala Dinner, Keith Hanvey was the master of ceremonies, and Real Class provided the entertainment for the third consecutive year. With spirits high, there was an extremely successful raffle and auction, which raised £2940, after being excellently co-ordinated by Sharon Edwards from the Leeds Childrens Hospital Appeal. Special thanks go to those who made kind additional donations, and those who donated auction and raffle prizes.

Lauren Slack, head of fundraising, stated that: “The real winner here was the good cause. The reason we work hard as a business, and produce events like this, is so that we can reward the community, and those who need it most.”
