Schmitz Cargobull has managed to help FCL Events Logistics halve their pan-European operations costs. This saving has been made with the support and extra space that has been provided in the form of four new MEGA box trailers.

Schmitz Cargobull have supplied the new trailers for FCL Events Logistics that has provided the extra capacity that has helped the logistics company halve the costs of their operations. The MEGA box trailers work by maximising the amount of cargo space available in the trailer, with the use of FERROPLAST® panels. These panels are thinner and stronger than the bodywork that is conventionally used as bodywork, which then cuts down the number of trailers that are required by FCL Events Logistics for each event.

These four new additions to FCL’s fleet will be used by the logistics company to transport furniture that is used for corporate hospitality suites in Monte Carlo, Silverstone and Monza as well as carrying flight cases, lighting and stage equipment used for concerts and trade shows across Europe. FCL Events Logistics transport large and bulky items, therefore in order to make the most of their transportation operations, the internal space of a trailer is vital. The new MEGA box trailers are ideally suited to the events logistics company requirements.

The Business Development Manager of FCL Events Logistics, Robert Grant has had experience working with Schmitz Cargobull in the past while working for a different company. It was this prior knowledge that allowed Grant to know that the solution offered by Schmitz Cargobull would suit FCL Events logistics perfectly.

The MEGA box trailers comply with the 4m height limit that is specified for international European vehicles, and all of the maintenance work on the vehicles can be conducted in house by FCL Events Logistics, with the lifespan of each trailer expected to be around 10 years.
