Moody Logistics and Storage Are Adding a New 18-Tonne Truck

In order to celebrate their 70th anniversary, Moody Logistics and Storage are adding a new 18-tonne truck to their fleet. The Cramlington based logistics company has a fleet of 20 vehicles and is allowing the young people staying at Newcastle’s Great North Children’s Hospital an opportunity to name the new vehicle.

Most of the trucks that make up the fleet of the family owned company already have names. Many of the names of the trucks in Moody Logistics have names that start with Geordie. These names include Geordie Princess and Geordie Sprinter, although the young patients and their siblings at the hospital will be able to put forward any name they like.

Judges will look at the entries and choose the name they like the best. The winning name will be painted on the front of the truck, and the child who submitted the entry will be given the opportunity to ride in the cab of the truck alongside the driver as well as have their photo taken with the truck that they have named.

Moody Logistics are open to any name, and it may be that the chosen name for the Lorry is Geordie Lorry McLorry Face. The company is also showing support for the hospital by holding a fundraising ball in aid of the hospital to celebrate their own anniversary.

The Platinum Charity Ball will be held on the 10th June and will be at the Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel. The event will consist of a reception, four-course meal and a live band and disco as well as a tombola, auction and raffle. The milestone is an opportunity for the logistics company to give back to the region for their support over the past 70 years.

The Great North Children’ Hospital Foundation supports all of the children and their families that come through the hospital. The hospital aims to make the patient’s experience the best possible.
