Scotland’s transport policymakers and industry experts to discuss the future of road transport at RTX Scotland 2026
Scotland’s leading transport policymakers, government representatives and industry experts will come together at RTX Scotland 2026 to share insight, debate key issues and examine the technologies shaping the future of road transport.
Taking place at Glasgow’s SEC on 18-19 November, RTX Scotland’s free-to-attend Knowledge Zone will deliver a packed programme of conference sessions focused on the challenges and opportunities facing the haulage, logistics and commercial vehicle sectors.
A major highlight will be a keynote address from Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Tourism and Transport, Stephen Flynn MSP, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to hear directly from government on transport policy, infrastructure investment and economic priorities.
The programme will also feature speakers from Transport Scotland, who will provide updates on key strategies and initiatives designed to support businesses operating across Scotland’s road transport and logistics sectors.
Innovation and technology will be central themes throughout the two-day conference programme, reflecting the significant changes taking place across commercial vehicle operations. Sessions will explore how fleet operators are responding to evolving regulatory requirements, improving efficiency and adopting new technologies to meet commercial and environmental objectives.
One of the programme’s standout sessions will be the RTX Scotland Big Debate, where a panel of industry specialists will tackle the question: Which technology will have the biggest impact on the road transport sector over the next decade? The session is expected to generate lively discussion and audience participation as experts assess the innovations most likely to transform fleet operations in the years ahead.
Adding to the atmosphere, HGV1 Radio will broadcast The Transport News Hour live from the exhibition floor, featuring interviews, analysis and reaction from across the industry.
The Knowledge Zone forms part of a wider exhibition featuring more than 75 exhibitors showcasing the latest trucks, trailers, workshop equipment, fleet technology and business services. Together with extensive networking opportunities, RTX Scotland provides visitors with direct access to suppliers, industry leaders and decision-makers from across the sector.
Hayley Tayler, Head of Content for RTX Scotland, said: “The Knowledge Zone is a key part of the RTX Scotland experience, bringing together influential voices from government and industry to discuss the topics that matter most to operators. Whether visitors are looking for policy insight, practical advice or a better understanding of future technologies, the conference programme offers valuable information and expert perspectives that can help businesses prepare for what’s next.”
