FTA Transport Manager 2017 Autumn Conference Series

The Freight Transport Association’s Transport Manager autumn conference series has had a successful start. So far in the series of events planned, four successful events have taken plane with more than 1,100 delegated booked to attend the conference series so far.

There are still places available at the remaining events in the autumn conference series. However, the Federation has advised that those not yet booked on, and interested in attending, should book as soon as possible to make sure that they do not miss out.

The conference series held by the Freight Transport Association has been sponsored by the truck manufacturing company, Iveco and is also being supported by Brigade Electronics, Goodyear Tyres and Microlise. The conference tours the UK in between September and November and sees the FTA members an opportunity to hear from key industry speakers and experts about the latest issues and challenges faced in the industry. The event is ideal for those who are in charge of road transport fleets to hear about the challenges that could have an impact on their operation as well as hearing a range of solutions.

As part of the conference series, Transport Manager was in Yeovil on Tuesday, the 10th of October. The event had a range of highlights including the Traffic Commissioner for the West of England, Kevin Rooney, discussing his priorities for the industry in the year to come. Also at the conference was the DVSA, who looked at the enforcement policies of roadside stops and the National Counter Terrorism Police offering advice on preventing vehicle use for terrorist activity.

FTA Transport Manager will be on tour around the UK until the end of November. The event will be visiting Peterborough, Doncaster, Dunblane, Southampton, London, Coventry. The feedback for the events that have taken place so far is that the Transport Manager is informative, professional and educational, as well as an excellent to ensure that the managers understand the industry and are fully capable of properly managing their drivers without expecting too much.
