Dixson Haulage have taken delivery of their first vehicles from Fraikin. The haulage company are in the process of replacing part of their fleet, selecting new assets from Fraikin on a full service contract hire. A bespoke agreement has been confirmed between the two companies in order to ensure as much uptime as possible from the Dixson’s fleet. In order to achieve this, proactive servicing will be planned and carried out outside of peak operation periods to minimise disruption.
As part of the fleet deal, Fraikin have supplied six 26-tonne Mercedes-Benz Actros curtainsiders, a Renault T 6×2 tractor unit and a 44ft Montracon curtainside trailer. These vehicles will be replacing a number of older vehicles in the haulage company’s fleet and will be utilised in the transportation of a wide range of cargo across the UK.
The vehicles will be maintained as part of the full service contract hire by Fraikin at their local branch, in Enfield. For this maintenance work to be carried out, a collection and delivery service has been put into place form Dixson’s South Ockendon base. This will make the regular maintenance of the fleet vehicles as hassle free as possible.
Dixson has made the decision to switch to Fraikin as they have shown a commitment to thoroughly understand the haulage company’s operations throughout, including creating a set specification for the fleet vehicles and the maintenance plan. This new agreement will make the Dixson Haulage fleet more efficient.
The agreement that has been made between Fraikin and Dixson Haulage includes fixed monthly payments throughout the term of the hire. These monthly payments also include full servicing, maintenance and repairs to the vehicles as well as routine safety inspection annual MOT testing, road fund licensing, tyre replacement, 24/7 breakdown support and relief cover if there is aver any unexpected down time. This one monthly cost will be great for the company to manage the costs of their fleet.
