Forward-thinking firm does its research and MAN TGS vehicles come out on top for economy and popularity.
Multi award-winning Instarmac, which specialises in manufacturing cementitious and bitumen based products has five new TGS 26.320 8×6 curtainsiders in its fleet.
Andy Ryan, logistics manager at the Tamworth-based company, said: “We have previously run MAN vehicles within the fleet and we carried out some research when some of the vehicles were due for replacement.
“Efficiency and economy were clearly key factors in the decisions, but we also asked our drivers what they are looking for.
“After analysis of all that information it was clear the MAN TGS was the right choice for us as part of our rolling replacement of vehicles as they reach six years on the road. The drivers were especially keen on the brand and the feedback we have had is the cab size makes a difference and the MAN’s win on that score.”
Instarmac, in Staffordshire, has taken delivery of the trucks, branded in their distinctive orange livery.
Andy added: “There are five brands within the Instarmac family, Ultratcrete, Ultrascape, Ultratile, Ultrafloor and Wondertex.
“The new trucks will be responsible for delivering our products nationwide as we find there is less damage incurred using our own fleet and drivers.”
Mike Richards, MAN sales executive, added: “MAN knows it delivers efficiency and economy to its customers, so to receive the feedback that the drivers prefer MAN too is very encouraging.
“It has been a pleasure working with Instarmac and we hope it is a relationship that will continue into the future as they look to replace more of their fleet.”
