Boughey Distribution, the warehousing distribution and consolidation contract company has carried out an upgrade of its fleet with the introduction of 50 new curtainsiders from Tiger Trailers. These new trailers will be replacing older assets that have been supplied to the company previously by rival manufacturing companies.
Following this upgrade and acquisition of new trailers, Tiger’s share of the fleet has increased to more 75%. The Nantwich based logistics company was one Tiger’s launch customers, taking their first delivery from the vehicle manufacturer in the early stages of 2015. This new, and more recent order will take the Tiger Trailers-built fleet to 156 units. The latest delivery to Boughey Distribution includes 35 4.2m and 15 4.5m tall clear span tri-axle trailers that have taller assets that are used to support for specific contracts that require double stacked loads.
Boughey Distribution Group Fleet Engineer, Paul Brimelow has said that the logistics company was one of Tiger’s first customers, and now the company is working to replace their entire fleet gradually with Tiger vehicles is demonstrative of Tiger’s service and quality. The new trailers have been created to meet Boughey’s unique specification and include 13 pairs of loading restraints as well as rear bunching straps that have been fitted at the rear corner pillars. The design of the trailers also includes snap hooks and rings on the inside that offer Boughey maximum ease of use.
The logistics company regard the relationship which has formed between themselves and the vehicle manufacturer as a partnership, as Tiger Trailers takes on board feedback and then works hard to offer as many solutions as possible. The trailers also have flush fitting rear doors that have been made from galvanised steel, with four hinges and a robust and secure double door lock bars in order to increase load security. All of the new trailers have also been certified to EN 12642-XL standards.
