Bedfords Gain Foothold In The South With Acquisition Of RPL Transport

Yorkshire based logistics specialists Bedfords Group have announced its acquisition of RPL Transport. This announcement comes at the start of an ambitious acquisition trail for Bedfords, who are quickly becoming a recognised national haulage company.

Bedfords Group purchased the £4.5million turnover business based in Milton Keynes to strengthen the groups offering, expanding operations in the South and solidifying its capabilities as a UK wide logistics company.

The acquisition increases Bedfords fleet to more than 100 and allows the group to become more efficient when operating from its Birstall based depot.

RPL Logistics is a modern family run business, which has been transporting goods throughout the UK for 30 years, and has experienced steady growth throughout this period. They also have a modern single-story 25,000 sq ft warehouse, ideally located just off the M1 for easy delivery and distribution.

Managing Director of Bedfords Group, Steff Pfadenhauer commented on the news, “The fantastic reputation, dedication of the management team and drivers, location and operations capabilities of RPL Transport are just some of reasons we took the decision to pursue this acquisition. With the purchase of RPL we can significantly increase our presence in the South. This will be key to our growth plan over the next few years.”
