When specialist vehicle converter Blue Light Services were looking for a new delivery vehicle to carry its finished ambulances from its production facilities to customers, they needed a truck that was not only flexible in operation but one that could carry a finished payload of up to 4 tonne, so Isuzu became one of the options.
After careful deliberation, the southern based bodybuilder specified its first ever Isuzu, acquiring an Isuzu N75.150 7.5 tonne rigid chassis that is fitted with a curtainsided, beavertail body to facilitate the loading and unloading of completed ambulance chassis for its customers all over the UK.
“The majority of ambulances we manufacture tend to be up to 3.5 tonne GVW and under, so the Isuzu 7.5 tonner, fitted with the beavertail body, is the perfect vehicle for our requirements. Not only do we use it to transport finished ambulances to our customers, but it’s also really valuable to us for transporting materials between our two manufacturing sites in Park Royal, London and Peterborough,” said Johnny Fieldhouse from Blue Light Services.
Bought through Isuzu Truck dealer JDS Trucks Ltd in Manchester, the long wheelbase Isuzu N75.150 (E) has a curtainsided, beavertail body manufactured by Truck Craft. The Isuzu cab Is totally wrapped and the curtains on the beavertail body have a printed design that is readily noticeable whenever the truck is delivering finished product.
“With the almost life-size ambulance image on the side of the curtains, our new Isuzu presents an excellent overall image about our business to our customers, when it is out delivering,” commented Johnny.
Blue Light Services was established in 2011 and is a specialist vehicle converter building high quality emergency and non-emergency bodied vehicles. The company has two production facilities, one in Park Royal, London with a second location in Peterborough, serving a range of customers including the NHS, private companies and prison services.
“The Isuzu 7.5 tonne range fitted with beavertail bodies have been the mainstay of many companies involved in the collection and delivery of light commercial vehicles. With its market-leading payload, this specification makes it the ideal vehicle for this type of operation, and we look forward to seeing this striking looking vehicle working hard for many years in the Blue Light Services business,” said Richard Waterworth, head of sales, Isuzu Truck UK.
