Jérôme Bonnet has been appointed as the new IT Director at Union TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA). His plan is to modernise the IT landscape, press ahead with digitisation and position UTA in the European market as an innovative mobility service provider.
“Jérôme Bonnet is a recognised IT expert of international calibre,” said Volker Huber, CEO at UTA. “He has many years of experiences in digital payment services, in fuel card and fleet management, and in customer loyalty programmes. His expertise will help us overcome the challenges posed by the digital transformation.”
In his new role as Director IT, he will be reporting directly to the CEO Volker Huber. Until now, Olaf Schneider has been sharing responsibility for the IT and toll areas. As the two areas are becoming of increasing strategic importance, they will become organisationally separate entities. “Henceforth, Olaf Schneider’s management experience will benefit the growth market toll,” commented Volker.
Jérôme Bonnet joins UTA from the parent company Edenred, the world leader in transactional solutions for companies, employees and merchants, where he had been the CEO of Cardtrend Systems in Malaysia since 2015.
The Edenred subsidiary develops fuel card and fleet management solutions for leading oil companies and banks in Southeast Asia. Prior to that, Jérôme Bonnet had held a variety of leadership positions in China and Singapore at Accor Services, a division of the Accor Group, which became part of Edenred in 2010. During that time he managed the Software Development Center and was the CIO for the regions Asia Pacific and the Middle East, among others things. He studied computer science in Bordeaux and is a graduate of the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris.
