Crick-based NX Group, a growing global logistics firm, has promoted two women to more senior roles within the company. Aliona Sturza and Jo Lawlor are now encouraging more women to consider roles within the logistics and warehousing industry this International Women’s Day.
Aliona and Jo have both risen from administrators to Warehouse Supervisor and Account Manager respectively, following recognition of their hard work and talent for organisation and management. Currently, NX Group employs 10 women as part of its 70 workforce and is looking forward to increase this figure as the business continues to expand.
“The role I’ve taken on is constantly busy and varied, with no two days ever the same, which is what I love about it. I’ve worked in other sectors, including education, but this is the industry where I feel most valued and find most rewarding,” said Jo, who heads up a team of six women in the firm’s customer services office.
“When I started I was the only woman in the warehouse but I soon progressed because I like everything to be arranged and handled properly and efficiently,” said Aliona, who joined the firm as an administrative assistant. “I now have an administrator helping me, and I think the company wants to bring on more ladies as it continues to grow, which I think would be great. I find The NX Group interesting to work for because we offer the full logistics package to our customers, from picking and packing to secure storage and courier delivery.”
“Both Jo and Aliona have proved to be excellent employees since they started and we want to train and provide opportunities to all staff at The NX Group who demonstrate hard work and dedication. We’re proud of all our employees, and as we expand our business we hope to bring more quality staff on board,” said Neil Powell, managing director of The NX Group.
