New Chairman of Cargo IQ Membership Board

The new chairman of the Cargo iQ Membership Board has been named as Henk Venema. Henk is the Senior Vice President and the Global Head of Network Carrier Management for DHL Global Forwarding. Henk Venema has managed to build up more than 15 years of experience in the air cargo sector and will be fulfilling his new role at Cargo iQ as a replacement for Max Sauberschwarz. Max is the Vice President and the Global Head of Carrier and Gateway Air Logistics at Kuehne + Nagel. As well as holding these two prestigious positions, Max chaires the IATA interest group from 2013.

It is great news that Henk Venema has been appointed to replace Max Sauberschwarz, who will carry on serving as a member of the board. The Cargo iQ board has a number of different industry experts and leading figures amongst their number, and to be awards chairman is an accolade for Henk. Max has worked diligently in order to make sure that Cargo iQ is on the proper track, and his leadership was a vital part of his time serving as chairman. It is great news that Max will continue to contribute as a member of the board.

Henk Venema will take over the position of chairman at Cargo iQ during the consistent release of initiatives that were first started during Max’s time at chairman. One of the projects still being carried out is the rebranding of the IATA’s World Cargo Symposium in Berlin. Cargo iQ are also developing more and more solutions for airlines and freight forwarders  and handlers. The group is working to create a space where the these sectors can come together in order to create joint quality standards that will help the industry in the future. As a further marker of Development Cargo iQ has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Shippers’ Forum last year.
