IVECO has appointed a new Light Business Line Director that will be responsible for its award-winning Daily light commercial range in the UK and Ireland. Chris Read started out in the automotive industry when he was 15 and joined Vauxhall as an apprentice technician. Realising his future is not in the workshop, he then spent seven year on the Aftersales and Customer Service teams.
At 25 he became the company’s youngest Regional Customer Care Development Manager and after working his way up the ranks at Vauxhall, he decided to join Ford in 2015 as Business Development Manager. In 2017 he joined IVECO as National Sales Performance Manager.
“I’ve worked in most parts of the industry, and it’s this real experience that I bring with me to this role. I can’t wait to get out there and start working with the sales teams and our network of dealers and customers. It’s a fantastic opportunity and a great way to start 2018,” said Chris.
He goes on saying his first goal is to raise brand awareness and further develop the markets for IVECO’s natural power and electric offerings. The company is looking towards a successful 2018 for its light business division, with the Daily Blue Power range winning International Van of the Year 2018.
Additionally, Chris would like to “continue the excellent work the team has been doing in the contract hire market, as well as focusing on bringing the benefits of Daily to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).”
He will be based at IVECO’s UK headquarters in Basildon and will report directly to Stuart Webster, Business Director at IVECO UK & Ireland.
IVECO designs, manufactures, and markets a wide range of light, medium, and heavy commercial vehicles, off-road trucks, and vehicles for applications such as off-road missions.
