Driver Hire had completed a record December

Driver Hire, UK’s largest specialist transport and logistics recruitment company, had a December turnover of £13.1 million. The strong demand for Drive Hire’s temporary workers boosted the turnover with 14% compared to 2016.

Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive, commented on this achievement: “Once again there’s been a big demand for our service in the run-up to Christmas. As in previous years, the increasing percentage of online retail sales – which create more home deliveries – has played a significant part in our success. In addition, our core national account customers, for whom high quality reliable service really matters, have also kept us exceptionally busy.”

The Bradford-based transport and logistics specialist has another reason to celebrate with nearly a third of its 102 offices individually passing £1 million turnover; two achieving a £2 million turnover and a further six being on their way to reach that within the next month.

Driver Hire is also reaching record levels outside the UK. Its Australian arm located in Brisbane has set a new record, completing £116k turnover in only one week. This record is not only an achievement for Driver Hire Australia, but an all-time record for the company as whole.

Chris Chidley commented on this news: “Our ability to deliver the right people to meet the demands of our customers, along with a highly compliant 24/7, 365 days a year service continues to set us in good stead. That is being reflected with strong trading, right across our network, both here in the UK and in Australia.”

Driver Hire was first opened in 1983, supplying temporary drivers to local transport firms. Today, it is much more than a supplier, with over 30 years of experience in the field and a network of over 100 offices throughout UK and Ireland, offering a full range of recruitment services.
