New Depot, New Jobs For Reason Transport

Logistics experts Reason Transport are celebrating the launch of their brand new depot following a £1.5m investment, which will also see the creation of at least 15 full time jobs, with further recruitment planned later in the year.

The Palletways network member has opened the doors to its bespoke 20,000 sq ft warehouse, boasting modern design and technology for increased efficiency, as well as taking receipt of 11 new collection and delivery vehicles.

The new depot is ideally located at Heyford Park, near Bicester, on the historic RAF Upper Heyford Air Base. Chosen for its robust on-site security and excellent transport links, Reason Transport can now offer exceptional service to the majority of Oxfordshire as well as parts of Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

Alan Reason, Principal of Reason Transport explains: “We have been operating for more than 60 years and have always put the needs of our customers first. I’m delighted to say that the investment allows us to offer both enhanced services to our existing customers, as well as extending our expertise to a new audience”.

The enhanced services include increased secure storage, more efficient haulage routes for faster deliveries and also a new inter-depot transport service. The entire operation will revolve around the new non-pedestrianised warehouse, ensuring efficient throughput of vehicles to reduce standing time and therefore cut emissions.

Reason Transport is one of over 100 members in the Palletways UK network – Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network. The company’s distribution networks are made up of independent transport companies who share each other’s resources to deliver small consignments of palletised freight to market faster and more cost effectively than ever before.
