Close Brothers Asset Finance, part of Close Brothers Group Plc, has announced the appointment of Rob Guy as Area Sales Manager in their transport division.

Rob joins the company from YKTO Group, where he was a Business Finance Advisor and Start-up Loans Manager. He brings to the role extensive experience in the vehicle finance sector, having worked in the industry for more than 25 years, and he is also the second longest serving Director of the Plymouth and Devon Chamber of Commerce.

In his new role as Area Sales Manager, Rob will be responsible for generating new business across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset, supporting transport firms with tailored financial solutions that support a wide range of business objectives.

Rob said: “It’s an exciting time to join the business, as confidence begins to return to the transport sector. Our latest research* reveals that more than half of transport firms plan to invest in their operations in 2015, while 48 per cent believe that trading conditions are steadily improving.

“Businesses are preparing for growth and having worked alongside firms in the South West for many years, I understand better than most the financial challenges that may lie ahead.

“I’m looking forward to using this knowledge, alongside the range of tailored financial packages we can offer to help firms achieve their objectives, whether it’s new vehicles, equipment or personnel.”
