Challenge Group Acquires TRG Logistics

Challenge Group, a UK-based logistics recruitment and distribution company, acquired Surrey-based TRG Logistics for an undisclosed sum. The two companies will be merging due to the deal in order to become Challenge TRG Group. Current TRG CEO, Nick Gordon, and TRG managing director, Steve Imber, will be continuing in their roles, as well as becoming shareholders in the newly-formed business.

“Merging with Challenge Group was a natural move for TRG, as both companies share a number of important synergies – not only in our commitment to service delivery, but the culture and ethos that underpins how we operate. I’m confident that together we will provide some of the industry’s biggest players with excellent manpower across the industrial and transport sectors,” commented Nick Gordon.

TRG specialises in providing temporary, contract and permanent HGV drivers and logistics staff to blue chip clients.

The newly formed Challenge TRG Group which will have a combined turnover of £120 million, and will collectively employ approximately 4,000 temporary workers and 150 permanent employees, and will continue to operate from two headquarter sites in the north and south – Wigan, Greater Manchester (Challenge) and Banstead, Surrey (TRG) alongside its regional hub structure.
