BCA Appoints New COO

Stuart Pearson is being promoted to Chief Operating Officer Remarketing Division (COO) within the BCA. He is taking over from Simon Henstock, who is retiring this month from the business and the industry after a 40 year career with BCA.

“We are delighted to appoint Stuart Pearson to this significant role. Stuart’s experience and passion for the industry will be critical as we continue to drive our business forward and meet the increasing demands of a fast-moving marketplace. We wish Stuart great success in this next step in his career at BCA,” said Avril Palmer-Baunack, BCA Executive Chairman.
“We also wish Simon Henstock the very best as he enjoys his well-earned retirement following a long and distinguished career with BCA,” she added.

Stuart Pearson joined the BCA nearly 25 years ago as a Management Trainee at BCA Derby. In 2000 he started managing BCA Preston, followed by the management of the auction supercentre in Bedford on its opening in 2005. Ten years after that he held the role of Operations Director at BCA UK Remarketing, shortly after being promoted to Managing Director at BCA UK Remarketing.

Simon Henstock who is retiring this year, joined BCA in 1978 and held a number of senior operational and sales roles during his forty-year career with the company. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer BCA UK Remarketing in 2015 during a time of rapid expansion of the BCA network that included the integration of the former SMA sites and the opening of the new Birmingham, Parry Barr facility.

BCA touches over 3.5m vehicles a year, working with OEMs, fleet operators and dealers to provide the backbone of the UK’s automotive supply chain. From technical and logistics services for new vehicles, refurbishment, storage and logistics for the growing used sector and the core remarketing and auction operation, BCA offers the economies of scale and diversity of services to meet the needs of an impressive portfolio of customers.
