Xplore Dundee's Updated App Is Launching

The new mobile ticketing app by Xplore Dundee is being relaunched today, featuring more green Xplore branding and colour-coded tickets, as well as a number of new products and discounts.

The Student Daysaver has now been introduced to the app, which will give students unlimited daily travel for £3. A Child Daysaver, also new to the app, has been reduced to just £2.50 for the duration of the summer holidays, while families and friends on day trips will also benefit from a special Group Saver summer price which means up to five people can travel across the network all day for £5.

“The mTicket app has proved very popular since its release, with more and more of our customers choosing the ease and value for money of a mobile ticket over a paper ticket,” said Managing Director of Xplore Dundee, Christine McGlasson.

“Now I’m pleased to say we can also offer discounted Group Savers and additional tickets for young people and students. Not only that but you don’t have to visit the Travel Centre for a Weekly Saver any more – you can easily buy and carry it on your phone. No fiddling with cash or paper tickets, just show the valid ticket screen to the bus driver and board.”

The Highlights of the updated mTicket app include: Group Saver is cut to £5 for the period of 2nd July to 13th August; for children and young persons the DaySaver is cut to £2.50 (2nd July to 13th August) and the Weekly Saver is cut to £8; for students a DaySaver has been introduced for £3 and the Weekly Saver is cut to £9.50; and the 10 Journey Bundles will cost £17.50 for adults and £12.50 for children, young people & students.

Xplore Dundee is also partnering with Dundee City Council and Stagecoach to offer the ‘Holiday Hop’ ticket once again for the school holidays, allowing kids to travel for just 20p with an adult holding a valid ticket. Moreover, it is part of the ABC multi-operator smart ticket project which is sponsoring the ‘Ticket to Ride’ statue in the Maggies Centre Penguin Parade, which runs from now until the end of August.
