XPO Logistics has extended the scope of its supply chain solutions for Radius Systems, a specialist polyethylene pipe producer, to incorporate a daily distribution service of fittings to Ireland and Northern Ireland.

In addition to the transportation of pipes across the UK, the two companies are working closely together to develop a new distribution model that improves the delivery of fittings to both Irish countries. The enhanced process will increase the delivery frequency of in-stock goods from twice weekly to daily, using integrated technology that facilitates a seamless data flow from order handling to fittings despatch.

Through its flexible next-day pallet network, XPO Logistics has complemented its existing Red Inside dedicated solution, which provides a customer branded outsourcing service, to include direct deliveries to Belfast and Dublin within 48-hours. This is supported by 72-hour distribution for all other areas. The service covers orders for stocked items received before noon on working days.

The fully computerised operation will increase order-processing efficiency; ensuring customers receive fittings when needed. In addition, customers will have direct access to fittings from the main warehouse, eliminating the need to stock-check several locations and therefore saving time in order despatch.
