The ground-breaking online price comparison site ParcelCompare has once again featured in the Financial Times’ FT 1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies.
The pioneering online parcel price comparison site ParcelCompare has again charted in the Financial Times’ eighth annual FT 1000 list of Europe’s fastest-growing companies. This year, it has achieved 624th place, making it the highest- ranking UK parcels company in the list.
The FT1000, compiled with research company Statista, is a list of the top 1,000 companies in Europe that have achieved the highest percentage growth in revenues between 2019 and 2022. The full results are revealed in the Financial Times today (Monday, 25 March, 2024).
ParcelCompare’s Head of Consumer Research, David Jinks M.I.L.T., says: ‘Despite a period of unprecedented change in the logistics and transportation sector, ParcelCompare has continued to adapt and grow, meaning it appears in the FT 1000 rankings again this year. We are delighted to have cemented our place in the list of European companies that have demonstrated exceptional growth in recent years.
‘ParcelCompare was the second-highest ranking UK logistics and transportation sector company this year, appearing below freight forwarders 500 Logistics. That means ParcelCompare was once more the highest-placed UK parcels sector company on the FT 1000 list. ParcelCompare has grown rapidly as more customers discover our smart comparison site, which seeks out the best price and transit time for their shipments from all the major international couriers.
‘ParcelCompare’s continued popularity is reflected in our FT 1000 listing, which reveals absolute growth of 263.2% and compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 53.7% between 2019 and 2022.
‘The resilience of ParcelCompare’s performance, in the light of many companies’ struggles during and post-Covid, is highlighted by the Financial Times, which says: “The return to growth after the pandemic has been hampered by high inflation and a cost-of-living squeeze, exacerbated by an energy crisis fuelled by the war in Ukraine.
“Though many businesses have struggled or failed to survive, others have demonstrated resilience and been able to thrive.
“The FT 1000 ranking, compiled with German research company Statista, showcases those European companies that have grown fastest in the face of all these challenges. They are listed in order of highest compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in revenue over the period 2019 to 2022. This year, a minimum average growth rate of 36.9 per cent was required for inclusion.”
David Jinks concludes: ‘ParcelCompare has enjoyed substantial and continued growth in recent years. Between 2019 and 2022, ParcelCompare had to contend with the arrival of Covid-19, the impact of lockdowns on businesses and individuals and then the slow resurgence of the High Street. Despite this period of momentous upheaval in the logistics and transportation sector, ParcelCompare continued to adapt and meet the changing needs of its many customers.
