FTA Welsh Logistics Lunch Announces Its Star Guest

FTA Welsh Logistics Lunch Announces Its Star Guest

Celebrate another successful year for the logistics sector by attending FTA’s Welsh Logistics Lunch, to be held at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel on 29 November 2019. Now in its 36th year, the annual lunch is the perfect forum at which to recognise industry achievements, network with peers, enjoy a delicious three course lunch and informally debate the key issues and opportunities facing the logistics.

To provide this year’s post-lunch entertainment, FTA, the only business group representing all of the logistics industry, is delighted to announce that Welsh rugby legend Phil Bennett OBE will be in attendance. Bennett, who is a former Welsh international captain, was part of the all-conquering British Lions team of 1974, which toured South Africa undefeated – something no other team has ever done.

“FTA’s Welsh Logistics Lunch was launched in 1983 and has grown every year since; a true testament to the value it provides to businesses within the Welsh logistics sector. And we are thrilled to have secured Phil Bennett as our after-lunch speaker: a true leader of the game, I’m sure he will have a host of stories to share with rugby and non-rugby fans alike. I’m looking forward to getting together with some of the industry’s finest and celebrating our achievements, despite the challenging economic environment we work in. It’s certain to be a great event once more – definitely not one to be missed,” commented Sally Gilson, Head of Welsh Policy at FTA, the only business group representing all of the logistics industry.

A table of 10 places is available to book for £500, a table for 12 for £600, or individual places are priced at £50 per person. For more information or to book a place, please visit https://fta.co.uk/welshlunch19

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc.

A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to Government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
